0 Its The Bubba Gump!

After a long and tiring week for my grumpy, he got a chance to take a 1 day leave last Friday. He wanted to go out and dine out. He slept the whole day, recharging his energy. When he woke up, he said he wanted to try in Bubba Gump, in Greenbelt. So we started preparing and off we went to Makati area. As usual, the place is jam-packed. Not the Bubba Gump but the whole Greenbelt area, filled with white and exotic-looking creatures.

So, we entered Bubba Gump and we were already in our "desired" table and still no one from the crews greeted or welcomed us. Sige lang. Then we waited. After 3mins (I think) a crew approached us, introduced herself and gave us their menu. I didn't try to remember her name as I am still pissed off that no one welcomed us when we entered the restaurant.

The place is nice. There are also a lot of white creatures eating, friends having fun with their beers, etc. I like the style of this restaurant. I find it very relaxing, actually. While browsing on their menu, I got a little worried. The food are really pricey! I was looking at my grumpy because I know he's been budgeting our money. lol

Here's what we got:

Cajun Shrimp
Sauteed in a hot & spicy cajun butter sauce. Served w/ garlic bread for dippin. Php385
Bourbon Street Fish
Charboiled cajun spiced fish w/ bourbon sauce &
shrimp over choice of mashed potato or rice.  Php530
Jenny's Catch w/ Lobster Butter Sauce
Pan-seared fish, laid over a choice of mashed pototoes or rice w/
sauteed spinach & creamy lobster sauce.  Php545
Captain's Fish & Chips
Beer-battered Dory. Php 530
Fleur 'd Lis
A royal drink w/ Malibu coconut rum, peach schnapps, & melon liqueur .
Php 275
Sweet Tea Coolers Php225
Honestly, we didn't enjoy the food. Sorry. The fish were a bit over cooked. The sauces that were used were not good tasting at all (well, at least for us). Total catch on our wallet? around Php2,200.00. Ka ching!! Oh, I forgot to mention the Php200 service charge. Tsk!

My own ratings:

Place: CCCCC
Service: CCC
Food: CCC
Money: CCC
Overall: 14 out of 20

Click here, if you wanna see their menu and here's their FB page.

If we still want to go back here? Sure. But not anytime soon.

0 It's Been A While, Domino's

Just recently, a friend of mine dragged me in joining blogger events so I can also experience what she's getting into when it comes to blogging. I've been thinking about this too. The perks of getting to know other bloggers is awesome. Not to mention the freebies if you're lucky. She added me in some bloggers FB group and then there I started checking out other blog posts. Then one day, there's this post inviting bloggers to join the launch of Domino's Pizza in Makati Ave. The 1st 12 bloggers who were able to send email, will get the official invite. I got excited. I sent an email with my name, blog website and contact #. The next day, I got the confirmation that I am invited to the event. I was not sure if I'll feel happy or not. This is my first blogger event, for crying out loud!! I felt scared, nervous and hesitant to attend. But I was told before that when you confirmed, make sure you will really be there because there were instances that the events coordinator will put you in "black list." I was like, "bahala na."

January 31st came. I prepared early. I had plans of getting there early so I can start minggling with the other bloggers and start knowing them too. When I got there, I saw a lot of people in front of Domino's Pizza. So, I thought, this is it. I just stand on the back side and waited. Then those people went to the building's open ground and gathered there. I got really scared and confused. Because they have their own groups and leaders.  They even have their attendance form. And, they started serving us pansit and biko. ahahaha! Uhm... I thought of just going home.. Then I tried texting the person who invited us to Domino's Pizza event and asked him if he's going to be there also. He responded immediately and said he will be late. So, that's it. I decided to just get out of the open ground for the meantime and thought of checking out the mall.

On my way back to Domino's Pizza area, I was welcomed by their crew holding their promo cards. So I asked him if he knows anything about the Domino's event. He immediately said yes. He asked if I'm one of the guests, and I said yes. So, he accompanied me inside Domino's. I felt relieved. There, I was welcomed by the crew and said to just wait because the priest hasn't arrived yet. Gosh!! I felt relieved that I went out of the unknown even I got myself into. Hahahaha!

It was a bit late when the event started. I had so much fun. I got the chance to meet other bloggers and they were all so nice to me. I was shocked because they all have their high-end cameras to take photos of the event. Whoah!! Met Aleah, Mi Chelle, Aileen, Sumi, Levy, FPJ Jr, Manette, Crumpyblogger and some others who I was not able to get to know since they were on a different table.

The event was lead by Domino's Marketing office (Ms.Issah). Domino's Pizza Inernational and Philippines Executives were there. Makati Vice Mayor Ed Pena was there too. The crews seems very happy and they were really game on picture taking. They even helped on throwing out candies and coins to us as part of the welcoming rituals of the restaurant. Even the Executives joined and we were all happy and laughing our lungs out. I think, I got a total of Php60.00 out of those coins. Haha!

We were served pizza of course! Haha! I like them all. And I'd like to try their other pizza too. The Pizza Extravanzza, Potato Pizza and Margherita Pizza. All were delicious for me!! Pizza Extravaganzza - in just a wink of an eye, and it's gone! Ham, sausage, beef, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese that made us drool and spoof! Where's the pizza?? Potato Pizza - This is weird for me. First time I ever saw potato wedges in a pizza. Also with corn, what else can be weirder than that?! But this one's yummy, too. So, there you have it. This is my first blogger event, ever! And I hope this won't be my last. I enjoyed the event as well as the company of the other bloggers too. :-)

I heard they will be opening another branch in SM Sucat by the end of February. Congratulations in advance. I will be definitely one of your returning customers. Cheers!!

5 In Sentro 1771

Not sure about the 1771 in its name. My friends A and C, introduced me to this restaurant last Tuesday for our always been re-scheduled - long-awaited get together. lol. The place is really easy to find. Greenbelt 3, just beside Baba Gump. Of course, we had fun, as always. We ordered food like its the end of the world and enjoyed laughing at each other's flaws. haha!

2/L Greenbelt 3, Ayala Center
Makati City, Metro Manila
Philippines
(02) 757-3941
Here's what we got:

corn beef sinigang. can't see the corn beef? me too!
crispy trotter (crispy pata). this is really good but a pit pricey
green mango salad. really good!
ginataang tilapia. yummy!
squash soup
Then we headed to grab some desserts. Was supposedly for a coffee but we ended getting CBTL's iced-blended drinks.

L-R: red velvet, sunrise & double chocolate
This girls' night out will be memorable to me. Got my first times on dinning in Sentro and then got the double chocolate iced-blended drink.

Sentro 1711 is actually part of Chateau 1711 Group of Companies. There are actually four: Chateau 1711, Sentro 1711, Sidebar and Cafe 1771. Sentro 1711 leads in a renaissance called modern Filipino cuisine experience by being first to break the boundaries found in time honored and familiar recipes and infusing it with a delectably sophisticated and cosmopolitan dimension. Using only the finest ingredients from both here in the Philippines and abroad, along with the deep understanding of the various traditional Filipino dishes, Sentro 1711 has innovated and re-invented on many local familiar flavors, preserving its many layers of taste and flavor while always adding something new, cosmopolitan and exciting every step of the way. Sentro has been very successful on making its legacy on making its name as your not ordinary Filipino restaurant.

Overall, the food was great. A bit pricey, around Php 500- Php 600 per person. As for the location, it has a smoking and non-smoking area. The good thing about it was that there were waiters and waitresses in the smoking area so you can easily call them when you need something.

0 The Date ♥

This past few weeks, my husband is feeling down about his job and decided that we go out. Almost 5yrs that we’re together and a year of being married. 5 years since our first date and tough times and yet it still feels like we are the cute 17 & 18 years olds we were when we met.
I’m sure we are the most boring couple on the planet. Our typical ‘hang out’consists of watching some tv show and working on our computers at the same time. In my previous post, we have had some misunderstandings due to lack of communication. So he wanted to make it up with me. But nothing was coming to mind — we were blank. We wanted to do something though, anything.
We decided to kind of do nothing really. We were going to go out and do things and try our best not to talk about our problems. Friday night, he took a leave from his job. And so off we went to a bar in Makati and got a few drinks. Our intention was to have ‘a little too much’ and then take some hours on walking in the park. Despite our best efforts we were not able to get tipsy as we hoped but our time at the bar was great. Just the two of us — talking — no computers, no work to interrupt us.
Our walk home was great. The weather was beautiful — not too hot and not too cold — and we had a lot of laughter. It was like we were younger and did the silly fun stuff we remember doing.
The whole night was perfect. We still talked about our jobs and bought some food on our way home, but overall we did great. There was no rushing to catch some emails, etc. We had a lot of adult conversation, we laughed and we didn’t have to rush anywhere.
We just enjoyed each others company. I love you Hun!
